The Redlands Racquet Club (RRC) was established in 1963 as a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting tennis awareness within the Redlands community and its surrounding region. Over the years, it has become a cornerstone of the community, fostering a love for tennis among both children and adults.

RRC members have the privilege of playing tennis at the University of Redlands Coach Jim Verdieck Tennis Center (https://goredlands.com/facilities/coach-jim-verdieck-tennis-center/11). Coordinating with the university’s tennis staff ensures that playtime is allocated fairly for all RRC members. The club also organizes several tennis events, such as Twilight Tennis, a Tennis Mixer with the University men and women teams, the Fall Tournament, and USTA activities which are eagerly anticipated by members.

Members generally enjoy playing tennis in the mornings and evenings, almost every day of the week, except when the University teams are holding their matches. This flexible schedule allows members to partake in their favorite sport conveniently and regularly.

Additionally, the club sponsors a Junior Tennis Program for children aged 5 to 16. Eight-week tennis clinics are held two to three times a year at the Redlands High School tennis facility. For more information on the Junior Tennis Program, contact Richard Jimenez at 909-793-5991. Furthermore, private tennis lessons are provided by Erik Lundblad, the university’s assistant tennis coach, who can be reached at 949-233-1215 or via email at bulldog92673@yahoo.com.

In order for the club to continue with this legacy, we hope all of us will be part of this growing organization, whose legacy continues to raise awareness among our community’s children and adults in the sport of tennis.
